Modernica - George Nelson Ball Bubble Lamp Wall Sconce
Modernica - George Nelson Ball Bubble Lamp Wall Sconce
Part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Bubble lamp was designed by George Nelson in 1947 and quickly became an instant icon of mid-century modernism.
The lamps were originally produced by Howard Miller in the 1950s, only to end production in 1979. Modernica has since reissued the Nelson Bubble Lamps to the original specifications using the original Howard Miller tooling.
Constructed of steel wire frame and covered with translucent plastic, the Bubble Lamp emits a soft, even light. Hard-wire installation.

Founded in 1989 by two brothers, Modernica started remaking mid century furniture before it was popular.
Most of the period designs that they make were abandoned by the original manufacturers, but thanks to their incredible production facility (including the original Eames Factory), thousands of Fiberglass Shell Chairs and other important designs are available for immediate shipment.
